So I've decided to give a shout out to all of my favorite stores. If I left you out, I'm sorry..I still love you and want to take you on that second honeymoon. Yeah? Well, your ass was fat BEFORE you married me!

Deviant Kitties:

Do I even have to explain? The hair here is FANTASTIC and well worth the linden. What are you waiting for? Amscray! Scoot! Go buy hair!

Rotten Toe

I absolutely love the wacky style at Rotten Toe. I've bought a pretty good deal of stuff here and everything from the mental hospital outfit to the Alice dresses are genius in that "I'm gonna steal your spinal cord while you sleep" way that makes this place absolutely wonderful!

Gritty Kitty

Almost every hair that isn't from DK that I own is from Gritty Kitty. They sell loads of other wonderful doodads too but my heart has always been with their hair. They have a way of making even the dreaded hat hair look stylish, adorable, wacky and sexy all at once. Not on me, of course, but I'm a cheese-head when it comes to messing up pictures :D

Tiny Paws

Child store or not, Tiny Paws is one of those tiny little corners of Second Life that automatically cheer me up when I see it. Grouped with sister stores Offal Kids, Trista's Full Perm and Rock Star, Trista Tuqiri's capriciousness is not something to be ignored. Everything she and Penelope Frostwytch makes ranges from whimsical to cute to downright dark- but in the cutest way.

Freezepoop

Mimi Therian is a comic genius. From shoot-able poptart toaster backpacks to poop hats, everything at Freezepoop is guaranteed to put a smile on your face. Strapped for Linden? Freezepoop is as affordable as it is adorable and most (or all) things are only 20L.

Intrigue Co.

I can't say enough about this place. Quirky to the point of genius, Intrigue Co. offers awesome, and at often times downright funny clothing at an affordable price.

Hello Dave.

I'm not sure if they have a store yet, but I do know you can go on Xstreet to buy their goods. Their items range from grungy/goth to downright hysterical and all at super great prices!

I stumbled upon this store during a hunt and ever since I've been in love, not to mention I love cardboard box stores! Everything here is dark without being downright slate black and very affordable for those strapped for linden.

The Macabre Hunt

The Macabre Hunt's theme this year are the works of Ol' Eddie Poe, so in the spirit of things I had decided to make something to do with my favorite ape psychothriller "The Murders in the Rue Morgue". Hunters get this cute, but insane, orangutan buddy. Mod/Copy
The Dark Void Hunt (I can't find the blog >.>)

The Dark Void hunt's theme is to make something that you would give someone to make them happy. You know what makes me happy? Rats! So Trashtastic made this adorable (if I do say so myself) carryable, wearable rat cage with two animated ratties. Mod/Copy
The Ghostly Expression's Hunt

For the Ghostly Expression's Hunt, I may have taken the name a bit *too* seriously. The prize for this is a floating, wearable ghost buddy that rotates around you and a holdable doll version.The Dark Katz Hunt

For the Dark Katz Hunt, I made a red and black neko ear and tail set, complete with bird skull accoutrement and a pair of black and red striped neko hybrid kicker boots.
The Hybrid Hunt

For the Hybrid Hunt I made both male and female prizes. 2 complete ferret avatars- Silver Mitt for teh ladies and Red Sable for teh Men. Comes complete with skin, ears, legs, tail and whiskers.

Ehh, my SNAFU for modeling them both on two chick shapes. Sorry!
The Zombie Popcorn Hunt
For the ZP Hunt, Fluffy Southpaw helped me make a Zombie Doll Avatar. I think it's rather cute in that "While you sleep I'll eat your spinal cord" sort of way.

Trashtastic! Storewide Easter Hunt!

Trashtastic! will be hosting a storewide Easter hunt during the whole month of April! That's right kiddies.

Hidden in the store will be 10 Easter Eggs, each filled with brand new, Easter/Ostara themed merchandise from Trashtastic!

The hunt starts on April 1st and ends on May 1st. So don't forget to stop by! Bring your friends, bring your friends friends! Bring your friends friends dogs friends!

Trashtastic! Gets A Makeover!

We've done away with the dowdy old boxes here at Trashtastic! and now we're using legos! That's right. Legos, playdough and anything else that stems from my boredom.

The clay dinos and pipes were created by the lovely, and talented Miss Rachel Breaker and the sea monster was made by Trista Tuqiri.

Trashtastic! welcomes The Hardware Company

The Hardware Company , my pal Fluffy's store, has now set up shop on Trashtastic! And I do mean right on top of Trashtastic. Fluffy specializes in grungy hybrid (*squee!*) parts for ever spectrum of halfling. There are also complete avatars, costumes, bandages and the list goes on and on. (Oh, and REALLY low prim furniture.)

So really, go and check it out. I guarantee you won't be disappointed!

Trashtastic! Building Classes

Trashtastic! will be hosting a twice a month building class, free of charge, to residents of Second Life that would like to learn to build. The classes will be 8:00pm SL time to 9:00pm sl time and will be the last Wednesday of every month.

This is a come one come all event and the events are:

*Learning the basics (Rezzing and resizing prims, gluing prims)
*Texturing and coloring (Coloring and rezzing objects)
*Sculpts: WTF? (Learning about sculpts)
*Building an item: Each student will receive an identical kit, featuring parts to create an item that the entire class will put together.

What you will need:

*Just yourselves and friends and really whoever you want to come along.

What you will receive:

*A kit with an item for building in the class. It will include: parts, textures and basic scripts

If you have any questions please drop a notecard to Flair Swansong.

This class will be taught via voice chat, so sound on everyone!

Keep in mind that the class room doubles as my building area throughout the week, only on the days specified will it even resemble a classroom.

Fashion Showdown 2009

Were busy little bees here at Trashtastic...seriously..we miss the sun. But here are some updates for this month! (Hopefully, one day, I'll remember to post item updates on here.)

First off, yours truly will be a judge at the Great Royal Wife Fashion Showdown on November 15th. They're still looking for designers and the rules are really simple. This thing looks like a ton of fun, so anyone interested in being a designer for the event should!

Below is an app (I copy pasted, of course.) and all applications should be turned into Charoa Hammerer.

This is your opportunity to participate in this years HOTTEST fashion show.

What makes Fashion Showdown the HOTTEST show this year?

The fact that it's not just a fashion show, it s a SHOWDOWN!! Meaning that designers will have received the same set of textures and will be competing for the title of BEST DESIGNER!!! This is the first show we have held and as such it has been set up as being relatively inexpensive.

I am really truly interested in seeing what people can design with a limited set of textures. The fee to participate is 200L. Each partipant will receive a pack of seamless fabric textures valued at 250L to be used to develop their submission for the fashion show. (All participants will receive the exact same texture pack to work with. Textures also available in PNG. Textures must not be tinted but they may be set to transparency, have detailing such as stitching, shadows, folds, creases, zippers etc added to them. You cannot use any other textures aside from those provided in the texture pack.)

I have invited a panel of fashion savvy persons within SL to judge the competition. All outfits will be displayed in a fashion show at the Kingdom of Egypt in Bejaja. Designers have full freedom in their creations and are not limited to a particular design style. Submissions will be judged based on Quality, Use of Textures, Creativity, Overall Look of the ensemble. Categories may be introduced but this requires further consideration. At this time any male or female designs will be accepted. You have full freedom!

Designers will be provided with a location on the sim where they can package and sell their fashion showdown submissions for the duration of two weeks beginning on the day of the fashion show.

The enry fee would cover the rental space for selling the fashion show submission, the texture pack provided to participants, administration fees etc.

Textures would be provided to the applicant at the time their application is accepted. No fees are to be paid until an application is approved. Once paid, the applicant will receive a link and password where they can download the texture pack.

Only quality submissions will be accepted.

The prizes are currently as follows but may increase before the contest date::

1st place Texture packs valued at 2400L +2500L gift card + 6000L
2nd Place Texture pack valued at 1200L +1500L gift card +3000L
3rd Place Texture packs valued at 500L + 1000L gift card +1000L

We would invite several media sources in SL to cover the event and are considering broadcasting the event live as well.

The proposed date of the fashion show would be November 14, 2009.
Submissions will be accepted until October 15th, 2009

Don't ask for a refund of your funds after you have registered and received your texture pack. No refunds will be issued as the cost of registration is equal to the value of the texture pack.

Limit of 2 submissions per applicant.

Applicants may NOT use any textures other than those submitted to you in the Showdown Texture Pack. You may however apply shading/highlights, stitching or minor decoration (such as zippers, pockets, bows, brooches) to your design.

You may NOT change the color or tint of the fabric textures provided to you in the Showdown Texture Pack. Think of this as "real fabric" and as such you must use the texture in it's original form.

Footwear, hats, purses and other accessorie do not need to be designed using the Showdown Texture Pack, if the applicant elects to design any. Footwear will be provided to the models.

All submissions must be submitted copy/transfer to Charoa Hammerer 1 week prior to the fashion show in order to give models a chance to rehearse in costume and to quality check the submissions.

Any items that are submitted for the fashion showdown that do not abide by the rules or use textures OTHER than those in the Showdown Texture Pack will be subject to disqualification. If you wish to have your item verified, please feel free to inquire with Charoa Hammerer and we can check your outfit for you. The week prior to the show will also be used to ensure all items conform to the rules of the Showdown.

Hunt presents and pics!

I've joined a ton of really fun looking hunts and below are the items that I made for them:

First up is the The SLGW Mother/Daughter Hunt. I chose to do a different prize for the mothers and one for the daughters. Yay!

For the mothers I made an exclusive skirt featuring a dark purple and teal leopard leather print pattern, with belt that features everything from a rubber duck to safety pins to bells. It contains a resize script.

For the daughters I created a little rainbow colored backpack with a pet bunny and a carrot inside. Mod/Copy.

The next hunt on the Trashtastic! roster is the The Demonology Hunt. Demon themed items are EXTREMELY foreign for me to make, but it was the ol' college try nonetheless. And it was fun!

The items shown below are the prizes found in the hunt for my store, but I was also a sponser in the hunt and created some contest prizes (But shhh, I'll never tell).

but the prizes are:

*Tail
*2 pairs of horns
*Exclusive hoof footed hybrid kickers

All items are mod/Copy

For The Freaky Fall Hunt we created a cute little spider backpack. Mod/Copy

The Dark Katz Hunt seems like another interesting one; so we created a pair of Hybrid Kickers with an exclusive burned out velvet red texture (Mod/Copy)

Next we have the The Twisted Hunt. For this I made some really swanky (if not deadly) arm bracers. Mod/Copy

And last, but most certainly not least, is The STEAM hunt. For this we made a tiny steampunk panda av. Yay! Mod/Copy

The Wear Grey For a Day Campaign

I received this and thought I would pass it on. As someone who is taking care of someone who is suffering from cancer, I can understand where this is coming from. So I'm reposting this FROM A NOTECARD I RECEIVED, so that maybe some of you guys can help out too! :D

"On 9-18-2009 there is an effort to improve Brain Cancer awareness and as my RL cousin had brain cancer and had been fighting it for over 10 years he lost his battle 8-13-2009, this is something very near and dear to my heart so I am setting out a plain gray tee shirt in the hopes that you all can also help me by wearing gray on September 18, 2009 and raise awareness for brain cancer.

We are also looking for other vendors who would like to participate by creating an item and all proceeds going to charity.
We are also looking for bloggers who can help us get the word out.

The back hinged paws have been updated in store, so anyone who has bought a pair in the past, please lemme know and I'll send you a new, corresponding pair! Just fill out a notecard with your name and the paws you bought, and I'll check the transactions history and send you the paws within 1-2 days.

Grid Wide Hunts are WORK

Alright so...

HOLY CRAP! I didn't realize how much (albeit fun) work organizing hunts were. So far, however, everyone has been right on the drawl with sending me any changes and I'm EXTREMELY grateful for that. We have a lot of great stores participating and a lot of really nice people.
